This is not a language course in which we practice actual translation. Rather, the course focuses ontheoretical and philosophical questions surrounding translation, including the (in)visiblity of translators, translation and gender, ethnicity, power, questions of original and copy, etc. Email me before the beginning of term or come directly to the first meeting. Readings are only in English.

More information about the English :
The course require a lot of reading. The translation course is all about theoretical readings none of which is in Japanese (it is not a language course where we would practice actual translation, but a theory course). |
