Japanese students are welcome to enroll in this course. While most of the academic articles we read will be in English, students who would like to read the primary assignments (works of Japanese literature) are free to do so in Japanese. Most discussion will be in English, due to the international makeup of the class, and active participation is strongly encouraged.
